On the gift registry (John 20:21)

The last few post have been pretty serious so it's nice to get back to some good ol' fashion wackiness. This verse is slammed into one concise, yet elaborate picture. First, there's Jesus flashing the peace sign. As-Salamu Alaykum is a common Arabic greeting translated to “peace be with/upon you.” This is the second time Jesus says it in 3 verses so I figured it's important. In verse 20, Jesus shows off his scars on his hands and side. I drew the wrist scar based on the common medical expectations. (There are many experiments on nail placement which are feasible, but it's important to note that the Greek word commonly translated to “hand” more accurately referred to the arm and hand together.)

That leaves us with the main point of the verse: God sent Jesus, and now Jesus is sending you. At first I wanted to put a big postage stamp on Jesus which would be hilarious, but it was difficult to show the sender. I switched over to the idea of gift name tags which works on a more interesting level. Just watch out if you want to walk somewhere, because the string will probably trip you. If you need to move around I'd suggest sticking with baby steps.

If you help Jesus modernize to one of those department store gift registry guns:
