Bottom's up (John 18:11)

“Drink the cup” was a figure of speech from the Old Testament meaning to undergo or experience. It is most often related to suffering. Now the phrase has a strong religious connotation that's linked directly to Jesus' sacrifice due his usage in instances such as this. Plus there's the representation in the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, the Eucharist, or whatever other naming convention you may use.

Did you know this whole statement is a metonymy (a figure of speech where one object is used in place of another closely related object)? You don't actually drink the cup. You drink the contents of the cup. (I guess in theory you could melt the cup down into a liquid and drink it, but I don't think your esophagus would be happy.)
